INTRODUCTION

Here at the Alma we aim to excel at all we do we do this in many practical ways that will be gone into later but the only way we can succeed is if every member of staff from the kitchen porter and busser downwards to the head chef and manager wants to do this.

In joining the team you have to do your best to be the best that way we will all enjoy ourselves and develop one of the finest pubs in England.

The things we do very well

Real ale we always have at least five real ales on usually a couple from Adnams a reasonably large reasonably local (based in Southwold) brewer, we like to list a t least one from the Harwich brewery and the others from local and national brewers. We also stock at least one local cider. We have been listed in CAMERA’s real ale guide for the past ten years

Real food. We use truly local produce, we don’t just say this because it’s the thing to say.

Our fish and seafood comes from the local fishing boats, check them out in the harbour.

We get all our meat & game from local butchers and producers. Our veg is mostly farmed locally or foraged.
